Supplies accessed to reduce harm
Our Healthbox gives our community accessibility, autonomy and dignity when choosing harm reduction. As someone who has been delivering harm reduction supplies and care to people in Winnipeg for the past 6 years, I know there is still stigma attached to substance use.
Jennie Russell, Harm Reduction Response Coordinator
We are really excited for the launch of Our Healthbox because we truly believe it will provide a service to address unmet needs in our community and offer people what they need.

Our Community, Our Healthbox

Our Community, Our Healthbox

Built in 1871, St. Boniface Hospital is located in the heart of the city, proudly serving a vibrant bilingual community and people of all nationalities.

Listening to the community’s concerns and collaborating with community members is key to serving our population.

When our community members were asked how we could improve harm reduction services in the city, accessibility, especially on the weekend and after hours, was named one of the biggest care gaps in Winnipeg.

Although Winnipeg does have a mobile harm reduction services (needle exchange program) and supports, the hours are limited and not everyone who needs these supports can access them when they need to.
